Time of Refreshings

Last week the women of Peace of God Outreach Ministries celebrated Mother’s Day followed by an anointed service on last Wednesday night, followed by a women’s conference on Saturday, and yesterday everything culminated with beautiful Sunday Service. The women of Peace of God Outreach Ministries are known as the Daughter of Thunder. Their theme this year came was “A Time of Refreshing” from Acts 3:19 “Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord.” We indeed had a beautiful services all last week. First giving honor to God and to my Senior Pastors Gary and Patricia Stern for their vision and leadership. I give honor to the Daughters of Thunder for their hard work which showed throughout the outstanding programs and worship services.

As for me, and the Sons of Thunder, it was a blessing to assist with setting up and breaking down. Everything was in place, decent and in order. Worship such as this brings all of God’s people together and gives the body an opportunity to praise and worship God beyond the walls of our own church. Yes, the church is were God and his Saints meets, but church is also the place were we give God thanks for the many blessings he has bestowed upon each day of our lives. And God will continue to bless us as we have an opportunity to grow in numbers and seek a refreshing of the spirit. Let us rejoice and be glad in it for this is a day of fresh starts and the prospect of new beginnings.

Refreshing shall come from the presence of God means that we should begin each day with prayer because each day is a new beginning (refreshing) with its own opportunities. Right now, at this very moment, we are in the presence of a mighty and merciful God and has given each of us the possibility of making a new start in life. Seasons shall come and go, but God's presence is forever faithful. No moment from your past can cloud the vision that God has for you. With God, all things truly are possible, and we must trust in God to guide us into a new and prosperous way of living our lives. God has provided each of us with all that we will ever need to live lives that he has destined for us. We are free to learn, and we are free to teach, and we are free to love one another and to be loved. We are free to live meaningful lives and to add meaning to the lives of others that they may see the light that God has placed in us. God’s love, mercy, power and grace has no limitation. God will open a greater understanding to his power and presence within you. There is nothing in all creation that exists outside the presence of God or that can separate you from the love of God when your heart is pure. I encourage each of you women out there to join a strong ministry that will teach you to grow and love the Lord.

I encourage each of you to find a church home and grow in the word of God. I have heard far too many people say that they do not need a church to worship God. But let me warn… "Where there is No vision....or purpose....the people perish." Proverbs 29:18 I have heard the word and it is truly a time for refreshing. I pray that each of you take the time to repent, be converted, change your heart, set aside sin and be refreshed. Let us now act now and with faith each shall prosper, grow and be refreshed in the Lord. Thank you Jesus! AMEN!

“Truly Giving Thanks”

Monday, November 23, 2009 Colossians 3:17 “Whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.” Truly Giving Thanks! I hear people proclaim that they thank God for this and thank God for that and I often wonder do they really mean what they say? Do folk really thank God for waking up in the morning? Do folk truly thank God for use of their right mind? Do folk really praise Him they way he deserves to be praised? For me, I believe most people say it because it has become custom and ritual rather than meaningful. Evident by the way most folk who proclaim these things live their lives. Actions speak louder than words! Folk say they thank God yet they do not live for him. For example, ever seen an award show and a popular performer receives a Grammy. They often begin their acceptance remarks by saying “First, I give honor to God.” But the recording and video they performed represente...

DO NOT LOOK BACK

Genesis 19:26 26But his wife looked back from behind him and she became a pillar of salt. I have been traveling this week on an extended road trip. Let me say that I am grateful and truly blessed for all your prayers and phone calls. I traveled to New Jersey, Virginia, and North Carolina this passed week. God blessed me to arrive at each of my destinations on time and safely. Along the way, I noticed one thing when I was driving. I always had to keep my eyes firmly fixed on the road ahead of me. I was aware of the traffic behind me through my rear view mirror. I was aware of the traffic around me through my side view mirrors but for the most part my eyes were fixed on the road ahead. So often times in life we look back on our past, we look back on “what was” instead of what is or what could be through Christ. God promises us that He will never leave or never forsake us. God is with us in the good times and through the bad times. He is here today, and he will be there tomorrow and will ...

WAKE UP

Monday, October 12, 2009 Acts 12:5-11 5 Peter therefore was kept in prison: but prayer was made without ceasing of the church unto God for him. 6 And when Herod would have brought him forth, the same night Peter was sleeping between two soldiers, bound with two chains: and the keepers before the door kept the prison. 7 And, behold, the angel of the Lord came upon him, and a light shined in the prison: and he smote Peter on the side, and raised him up, saying, Arise up quickly. And his chains fell off from his hands. 8 And the angel said unto him, Gird thyself, and bind on thy sandals. And so he did. And he saith unto him, Cast thy garment about thee, and follow me. 9 And he went out, and followed him; and wist not that it was true which was done by the angel; but thought he saw a vision. 10 When they were past the first and the second ward, they came unto the iron gate that leadeth unto the city; which opened to them of his own accord: and they went out, and passed on...
