TRUST IN THE LORD 3/16/09

Jeremiah 17:7-8 (NIV)

7 "But blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD, whose confidence is in him. 8 He will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit."


During these last days, you must continue to trust in the Lord. Your hearts (roots) must be firmly planted and deeply rooted in God’s word. You must strive to allow His word to grow in you as the Holy Spirit grows in you through the stream of His Love, Grace, and Mercy.


Wherefore you shall not fear when trails and trouble comes your way. Your life will continue to be enriched, not matter the trouble. Through it all you will not be anxious or allow the weeds of the world to cut you off from the source of everlasting life. Always be fruitful in the world through the word of God. Be like the tree planted next to a stream, stand firm! Let nothing move you! Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain. 1 Corinthians 15:58 (NIV)

I hear people proclaim that they thank God for this and thank God for that and I often wonder do they really mean what they say? Do folk really thank God for waking up in the morning? Do folk truly thank God for use of their right mind? Do folk really praise Him they way he deserves to be praised? Actions speak louder than words! Folk say they thank God yet they do not live for him. For example, ever seen an award show and a popular performer receives a Grammy. DO NOT LOOK BACK

Genesis 19:26 26But his wife looked back from behind him and she became a pillar of salt. I have been traveling this week on an extended road trip. Let me say that I am grateful and truly blessed for all your prayers and phone calls. I traveled to New Jersey, Virginia, and North Carolina this passed week. God blessed me to arrive at each of my destinations on time and safely. Along the way, I noticed one thing when I was driving. I always had to keep my eyes firmly fixed on the road ahead of me. I was aware of the traffic behind me through my rear view mirror. I was aware of the traffic around me through my side view mirrors but for the most part my eyes were fixed on the road ahead. So often times in life we look back on our past, we look back on “what was” instead of what is or what could be through Christ. God promises us that He will never leave or never forsake us.
