ECCLESIASTES 3:11
11God has made everything beautiful for its own time. He has planted eternity in the human heart, but even so, people cannot see the whole scope of God's work from beginning to end.
We are taught at a very young age to be excited about expected events. I remember as a child that I could hardly wait for my birthday, holidays, and Summer Breaks. Sometimes as an adult I find myself anxious waiting for things I desire from God. I heard someone say that as we look at our watches; God looks at the calendar. Waiting on God is sometimes a difficult discipline for believers to develop. By nature we're not patient, and our culture offers little encouragement to develop the habit. We want, we need, and we believe that we deserve what we desire now. Credit card companies and retailers have made billions of dollars on this fact alone.
There is no doubt many of us may be waiting for a number of things, too: a victory, a healing, peace in the family, growth in the family, vindication, success. Today I encourage you to remember one thing: God is on his way. God is forever faithful. Sometimes our troubles seem to last forever. Sometimes God’s silence seems to last a lifetime. That's because we look at the clock while God is looking at our whole life.
Solomon wrote in Ecclesiastes 3:11; "God has made everything beautiful for its own time. He has planted eternity in the human heart, but even so, people cannot see the whole scope of God's work from beginning to end." We cannot see the whole scope of God's work, but the scope exists. And we may not see the big picture, but there is one. Today might be just another day of waiting for you, but here's how you can make it better: Take your eyes off the clock and turn them toward Jesus. Spend this time waiting in expectation rather than desperation. God is at work in your work in life, making all things beautiful in their time.
It is easy for us to live in expectation in the Lord. It can be exciting when we run and don't grow weary because we have everything we want in life. But honestly, I have not anyone that lives that way. Moreover, just like a loving parent, God is not going to bless us with everything we want just because we are faithful. He will supply all our needs. Whatever you need keep on praying, brother and sister. The Lord is there when you most fear he has forgotten you! God will never leave of forsake you! AMEN.
