1Ephesians 4:17-19
17This I say therefore, and testify in the Lord, that ye henceforth walk not as other Gentiles walk, in the vanity of their mind, 18Having the understanding darkened, being alienated from the life of God through the ignorance that is in them, because of the blindness of their heart:19Who being past feeling have given themselves over unto lasciviousness, to work all uncleanness with greediness.

“CUT IN HALF – CUT AWAY FROM GOD”
A recent novel by Madeleine L'Engle is titled "A Severed Wasp," The title comes from one of George Orwell's essays, offers a graphic image of human disconnect with God. Orwell describes a wasp that "was sucking jam on his plate and he cut it in half. The wasp paid no attention, merely went on with his meal, while a tiny stream of jam trickled out of his severed esophagus. Only when he tried to fly away did he grasp the dreadful thing that had happened to him." The wasp and people without Christ have much in common. Severed from their souls, but greedy and unaware, people continue to consume the world’s sweet nectar. Only when it's time to fly away will they grasp their dreadful condition. Only when they face a tragedy in their lives do they attempt to fly away with God. It is only then that they find they have no connection to God.
This year Repent! For the Kingdom of God is at hand. Never mind all the stuff you resolved this year! Reconnect with God. The major difference between those without Christ and the wasp is that Jesus was given to put you back together again. To make you whole! Jesus can make you clean and put you back together again. Oh Lord wash me, again! Come and make me whole! Have a blessed week, In Jesus’ Name… Amen!
