Welcome to Monday Meditations with Elder Mike

Since my heart attack God has been working on me. I have had an opportunity to rest and fellowship with God. My inspirational weekly meditation has continued to grow! Glory be to God! But, I want to encourage those who may not know Christ to ask questions and post testimonies.

Therefore this is my new blog "Monday Morning Meditations with Elder Mike." May the Holy Spirit lead you on how you would like to share this blog site. I will update it weekly, usually Monday Mornings but, if the Lord puts something on my heart to share with you all outside of the weekly posting I will notify everyone via email. My prayer is that God will bless those who are seeking the truth through his word. For personal questions or individual prayer my private email address is available under my profile.

I encourage each of you to ask questions and post testimonies if you have them. In doing so, God will keep each of strong in his word as we show others the light! Welcome to the blog and God bless you is my prayer!

“A THANKLESS JOB”

Monday, Sept. 7, 2009 1 COR 15:58 (NIV) Therefore, my dear brothers, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain. Ever feel like the work you do in the Lord is not worth it? You pray and testify and the very people you desire to share in the Kingdom ignores your teachings, testimony and the truth. Can you just imagine how Jesus must have felt, knowing the rejection and pain he was had to face? When I was at Lowes the other day, working on an Accutinter, I spent most of my day inside and under a computerized robot of sorts in the Paint Department. Because I was inside a machine full of colorant and paint no one noticed me around much. The customers were rude and very rarely said “Thank You” to the sales associates. One even commented that she had a “Thankless job!” “Everyone wants something but does not care about the one assisting them in getting want they want.” Brothers and Sister...

“Truly Giving Thanks”

Monday, November 23, 2009 Colossians 3:17 “Whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.” Truly Giving Thanks! I hear people proclaim that they thank God for this and thank God for that and I often wonder do they really mean what they say? Do folk really thank God for waking up in the morning? Do folk truly thank God for use of their right mind? Do folk really praise Him they way he deserves to be praised? For me, I believe most people say it because it has become custom and ritual rather than meaningful. Evident by the way most folk who proclaim these things live their lives. Actions speak louder than words! Folk say they thank God yet they do not live for him. For example, ever seen an award show and a popular performer receives a Grammy.
